Dear man of OYAGAA:

 

We are saddened by the situation that has arisen on your earth because of the Shroud. But do not judge that our sadness has a religious motive. We came to integrate ourselves into your cold star moved by cultural reasons, persuaded that your Social Network has a rich history, considering that it is at a less advanced stage than ours, that your psychology has a surprising typological variety and that your aesthetic (pictorial) talent is undoubtedly superior to ours (even though the OEMII of ummo is appreciably more advanced). Bear in mind that the appearance of the hominids of our Extinguished Star was earlier than the emergence of human life on your geoid.

 

It is not only historiographical culture that interests us, but the complex network of knowledge (Geology, Biology, Astronomy, etc.) that makes up the YAANEEYA (THE EXISTENTIAL COMPLEX) in which you are integrated.

 

As witnesses of this humanity, your heritage, we have not wished to intervene, faithful to our status as mere observers. We form a team of twenty-six travellers located in different countries of Earth, and we maintain correspondence with small groups in Canada, Australia, Spain, the Soviet Union, Zimbabwe and some others, our information being limited to supplying them with our culture, without meddling actively in internal affairs. (Only Spain has been the exception, after our existence became public).

 

The first years of our stay here (1950) were very hard, for our notions about you were very limited and the languages of yours that we learned were very rudimentary. My brothers of that time were truly terrified that our existence among you might become known. As the years have gone by, we have understood that more than declarations of identity are needed in order to be believed. It would be necessary to back our existence on OYAGAA with unquestionable proofs (scientifically verifiable checks), without which our testimony would remain confined to a few brothers of yours accused of having an irrational mentality. This provided an almost perfect alibi. Being able to pass among you as simple disturbed people with a systematized delusion of being extraterrestrials, we remained free of all interested harassment (it is said of us that we are a group of prankster university students, or else an international organization with unknown aims, which throws up a smokescreen -playing with our name- for a very different purpose, perhaps to study sociometrically the credulity surrounding UFOs. Or perhaps murkier motivations. Perhaps an unavowable association with criminal aims. Now there will be discussion about our links with a religious Association defending the Holy Shroud...)

 

However, we repeat that our interest in the Shroud has a very different significance, which we are going to set out for you briefly. Throughout history, various currents of a mythical-religious character have been forged within you, as an expression of man's need to believe in an otherworldly life headed by a creator god or a set of deified entities that would govern extracorporeal life. Naturally this desire has manifested itself in the universal context, and we could not be an exception.

 

On UMMO we have had another OEMMIWOA (UMMOWOA) of characteristics similar to those on other cold stars with a similar level of evolution. If the cultural stage is analogous, it is inevitable that people identify him with a divine spirit. And on those rare cold stars where he has not yet appeared, his arrival is awaited with a certain expectation (if they have been informed beforehand).

 

Today we know that a being of this constitution belongs to another species. A profound mutation takes place, changing his genome profoundly. That is, the change of species entails a complex series of DNA fragments changing their structure. It is not a matter of a simple chain of Nucleic acid altered by a physical or viral agent, as your expert geneticists contemplate at present (such mutations are real, but the biologists of earth still reject an agent that would bring about directed teleonomy (vitalist theory). It thus seems unthinkable to them that so many ordered genetic changes could be presumed in a matched sequence. (A Spanish group has been informed more fully.) But we affirm that such a change exists, and the new species has been known to you as Jessuha (Jesus).

 

His typology or phenotype is similar to Homo Sapiens Sapiens, although his brain, reproductive mechanism (he cannot have children with a normal woman) and certain physiological functions differ notably. In short, he is a more evolved individual endowed with a capacity for awareness far above the average. It must be stressed that there is no divine intervention in his creation. His existence is explicable in the light of Biology. On the OOYAA (cold Star) where such an OOMMIIWOA arises, his sex is indifferent, although in our respective humanities (Earth and Ummo) the figure has coincided with GEE (Male). We know of cooled Stars on which the OMMIIWOA has been a woman.

 

It is essential here to point out to you (although we regret hurting your sensibility) that we do not share the same idea of creation as the humanity of OOYAGAA.

God would be a higher entity which for you is at the same time the creator of and responsible for all creatures. God would in principle be a perfect entity that would explain the survival of man on Earth, as well as life after death.

(For didactic purposes we identify God with WOA, although the two concepts are radically different)

 

WOA, on the other hand, is a concept inserted in the Universe itself, and parametrizable by Science itself. It is a very different conception, whose notion we will explain on another occasion. Although the birth of an OEMMIWOA is not determined by the express will of the divinity, a physical effect takes place that is incomprehensible at the present stage of Science, but which is a rarity like ball lightning or the explosion of a supernova. That is the reason why we study the figure of Jesus attentively, independently of the religious connotations so dear to you, which we respect profoundly. This is our purely scientific interest in the case.

 

There are profound differences between you and our conception of the World. Not only as regards our doctrine, but in the very basis of formal Logic. You accept the principle of the excluded middle based on the teachings of Aristotle; we, on the other hand, base our existence on a very different logical polyvalence. Hence our relationship with you is very difficult, which forces us into a costly work of adaptation. Our thought is based on parametrizable and scientifically verifiable principles. The rest serves us as mere speculation and an enriching source for our future models. We are therefore very rigorous with our beliefs.

 

But for you these arguments are not convincing at all. Several volumes would be needed to reason out for you what we have expressed. We are aware that our explanations are not orthodox on OOYAAGAA, and you must interpret them as mere clarifications of our stance. We had no motivations of a religious order, and we consider the historical figure of Jesus from a different perspective. We are indignant only at the imposture committed, in terms of scientific coordinates. And it grieves us to consider that the only proof you had should unfortunately have been stolen, giving rise to a strong delay in the evolution of the Social Network in which you are immersed.

 

Your religious phenomenon has been inevitable at your evolutionary level; some brothers of yours consider that it has all been negative. We regret to disagree with this assessment. Although on the whole religious views have been alienating and distorting, the stances of your sincere brothers have enriched the Social Network, and we classify their conduct as negentropic (that is, not regressive, benevolent).

 

In any case we have been surprised by the stir provoked all over the world by the dating by accelerator mass spectrometry based on the radiocarbon present in the samples. We have been struck by the passion and exaltation with which the news has been received. Clericals and anticlericals fanatically rush, without knowing the facts, to refute the opposing positions, without any reason.

 

Thus we can see that the expert analysis carried out in the laboratories of Oxford, Zurich and Arizona is attacked on the grounds that the scientists were so stupid as not to notice that the samples had carbonaceous excrescences deposited over time. These commentators do not know that the small samples were chemically washed precisely to cancel out this criticism. Even more senseless is the assessment of a journalist that the radiation present in the Shroud is to blame (they persist in believing that the imprint left by the body is radioactive in nature). If ionizing rays had been able to alter the linen, the rate of radioactive carbon would give an earlier date. Exactly the opposite of what happens, and the manufacture of the cloth would have been dated centuries before the year one (of the era of Jessuha).

 

On the contrary, the enemies of the Shroud gloat over this discovery of the fraud, considering that the imposture is so manifest that it is not worth insisting on the matter. Both stances are monstrously mistaken. Let us see why.

 

In the Christian world in which you move (whether for or against), your acts are unconsciously modulated by hidden feelings of a religious character, and this seriously distorts your acts. Try to keep to the objective data, independently of the sympathy or antipathy that persons and ideas arouse in you: and reason calmly. Do you dare to follow us?

 

We invite you to analyse us objectively. Begin with ourselves. You have received a strange letter signed by strangers who claim to come from a place stranger still. This is the most implausible thing, and we invite you to describe us as mentally ill, or as people with nothing to do who try to make fun of you, or as shrewd criminals with unknown intentions. Forget us and follow faithfully the perfectly well-known facts.

 

Analyse the Shroud carefully. Three centres of proven reliability determine, with explicable deviations, that the age at which the linen was woven ranges (on a normal error curve) around the 11th to 15th centuries. If you have a critical mentality, accept this assessment.

 

Once official science has made you see the medieval fraudulence of the Shroud, one begins to see “very clearly” the enigma of the imprinting of the traces of the body. It would now be explained why that imprint cannot be accounted for by a transfer of exogenous products secreted by the body in the phase of decomposition. On the contrary, it is verified that the marks left on the sheet are due to the alteration of the molecules of the fabric caused by a high temperature (above 200 degrees). This would be because the cloth had not been painted; otherwise it would have been forged by means of a reproduction of Jesus made of a metal alloy and heated to semi-incandescence. Thus an imposture committed in the 14th to 15th century by means of the credulity of believing OEMMII seems to be elucidated.

 

It would thus be explained that those who refuse to admit the supernatural, and do not accept thaumaturgical influences in a piece of cloth, should refute its authenticity. Vittorio Delfino Pesce was the first to denounce the deception, in 1987 on Television, approaching the way it was done by suggesting it had been made by means of a metal bas-relief overheated to 230 degrees. (It was the forged cloth).

 

But the enigma has not been dismantled so simply. Let us analyse the question dispassionately, coldly, scientifically. Who, in an age sunk in cultural obscurantism, would be capable of this marvel? It would have to be a man versed in photographic optics, capable of being aware that it was a negative and of foreseeing what Secondo Pia would discover in the year 1898, and of obtaining a three-dimensional image in full 20th century, ahead of NASA technicians. The unknown forger would have had to take into account in his erudition not only details such as the way the men of that time braided their hair, but the texture with which a fabric made of linen was woven.

 

The most astonishing thing would be to verify the medico-legal knowledge of a man capable of locating on a hand the exact point of crucifixion, placing it in the zone of the carpus you call anatomically “Destot's Point”. Do not forget that the artists of the time painted the body nailed through the palms, and his mastery in fixing, by means of forensic criminological knowledge, the atrocities by torture to which the victim was subjected. Moreover, anyone who enters into the hyper-puritanical mentality of that time is struck by the lack of modesty shown in representing the imprint of the naked body.

 

We denounce the sad truth. The Shroud was fraudulently exchanged in the year 1929 (the decision was taken in 1928). The forgery was carried out over about eight months (1927). Its making was commissioned by a small number of men of the Catholic Hierarchy. It is made on the basis of the authentic original as photographed by Secondo Pia.
